Position Overview
The Department ofMaterials Science and Engineering is accepting applications for Semester Lecturer appointment(s) (temporary position; less than 30hrs a week) to teach undergraduate and/or graduate course(s) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering for Fall/Spring/Summer semester. Hours will vary, pending course(s) available. Duties include but are not limited to: holding office hours; grading assignments and submitting grades; may participate in curriculum development and course coordination.
All courses are taught in person on the Universitys main campus in Columbus, Ohio.

Education and Experience Requirements
Required
Masters degree or equivalent
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
A commitment to or demonstrated efforts in teaching that reflect Ohio States Shared Values.
Desired
Experience teaching in a learning setting including, but not limited to, K-12 classroom experience or higher education teaching as an instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant.

Department Information
The Departments of Materials Science and Engineering as well as the broader materials research community at OSU seek to expand and enhance core research areas in advanced functional, energy, and structural materials as well as in corrosion and oxidation in extreme environment through integration of experimentation with computation by adding synergistic expertise in the areas of mesoscale modeling of electrochemical reactions at heterogeneous materials interfaces and chemical synthesis of functional materials. The successful candidate is expected to develop and sustain active sponsored research programs, and involve actively in both internal and external professional services.
