About the Role

We are looking for a talented, innovative and self-motivated Scientist to conduct preclinical development of novel therapies for pancreatic cancer. The successful candidate will work with the team to develop innovative approaches to locally deliver chemotherapy to solid, inoperable tumors. The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate and implement research activities in a timely manner in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drug delivery formulation development and manufacturing
  • Independently develop and document manufacturing and testing procedures
  • Follow established methods to conduct testing, such as drug delivery system characterization
  • Write protocols, conduct testing, analyze results and generate reports
  • Analyze and communicate research results through technical reports and presentations
  • General laboratory support including equipment maintenance, preparation of reagents, and ordering of lab supplies.
  • Document activities in laboratory notebook and manufacturing records as required
  • Support external collaborations with partners, foundations, and contract organizations


Requirements

Qualifications

  • MS with 2-4 years experience or PhD and 0-2 years experience in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline
  • Familiarity with analytical, biochemical, mechanical and biophysical measurement and characterization techniques
  • Good knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis
  • Experience with implantable drug eluting systems (film, matrix, patches, micro- or nanoparticles) is a plus
  • Experience with the development and testing of biomaterials or polymers for drug delivery
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
