RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory - Chung Lab, is a pivotal role responsible for generating spatial transcriptomic and proteomic optical imaging data of human and non-human primate brains, utilizing the novel technology pipeline established by the Chung Lab, including tissue processing, molecular probe staining, and volumetric data acquisition using light sheet microscopes. Will be a direct contributor to a large NIH UM1 research center, entitled Center for Multi-scale Multi-Omic Human and Non-human Primate Atlas. The primary responsibilities of the research scientist are to independently conduct experiments and optimize various protocols to ensure successful and consistent results. They will also work closely with the collaborating teams across the center to conduct necessary protocol validation experiments.

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, material science, biology, chemistry, or related scientific field; a minimum of five years of experience working in a large research laboratory; strong technical/scientific writing skills; experience with research/grant proposal development, writing and editing; publications record in reputable journals; supervisory experience; strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a diverse team of graduate students, postdocs, research staff, and the ability to promote collaboration and cooperation among teams; strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; time management and planning skills; strong problem-solving and organizational skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite; and experience with or willingness to learn new laboratory management software.
