This position is in support of an ongoing multidisciplinary study of the environmental and climate history of southwestern Minnesota and how it may have influenced the ways in which people interacted with the landscape. The purpose of this project is to examine fluctuations in the magnetic mineral assemblage of lake sediments and to tie these fluctuations to nearby archaeological sites. This work will take place inside the Institute for Rock Magnetism.⢠Work with Professor Feinberg and collaborators to analyze lake cores from southwestern Minnesota during summer 2025 at the Institute for Rock Magnetism (IRM) (30%). â¢ Use the IRMâ™s array of instrumentation (after sufficient training) to conduct measurements during the summer of 2025 (30%).⢠Learn to interpret
