Postdoctoral Associate in mechanics of soft materials The Zehnder Lab at Cornell University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to perform research on the failure of soft materials. Research will be under the direction of Prof. Alan Zehnder. The successful candidate will be part of a small team consisting of Profs. Zehnder and C.Y. Hui and a Ph.D. student, working to understand, quantify and model time dependent damage leading to fracture in soft materials. The role is primarily experimental but, depending on the candidate's interests and expertise, may involve theoretical and/or computational modeling. The nominal start date of this position is April 1, 2024 but a flexible start date is possible.
