Summary of Position: This position is located at the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, Twin Cities in the Department of Pharmaceutics. The laboratory of Dr. Changquan Calvin Sun in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy (UMN CoP) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate with training in the fields of pharmaceutical materials engineering, through preparing drug-polymer composites, to synergize with our strength in conducting formulation research.
The employee will work under the guidance of Professor Dr. Changquan Calvin Sun in his research laboratory, based on the Minneapolis campus. The University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy has been at the forefront of preparing pharmacists to be leaders in health care and society for over 125 years, and is consistently recognized as one of the best pharmacy schools in the nation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 70% Major responsibilities will be in performing laboratory experiments to support sponsored projects, contract projects, or other research projects assigned by Prof. Sun
15% Careful record keeping, including the preparation of manuscripts describing the results of the research.
15% Assist with the organization and maintenance of the laboratory and its equipment. Advising and/or assisting junior lab members on their projects.

Work arrangements: This role is offered as an on-campus position where you are required to be onsite at our Twin Cities, MN campus on a regular basis. The ability for some flexibility with this requirement and the specific schedule will be determined between you and your supervisor.â
Working Conditions: The work will be performed in a multi-disciplinary lab. The person in this position will be expected to interact with researchers from multiple backgrounds.

Required Qualifications: Degree and/or credentials: Ph. D., or equivalent terminal degree is required in a specific area of research. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred Qualifications: All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics or closely related fields. Extensive experience in materials science, tablet formulation development of drugs, including outstanding problem-solving abilities, mastery of powder flow characterization, superior knowledge of powder technology is required. Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent communication and writing skills.
