The Laboratory of Dr. Hickner is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate interested in the study of non-aqueous proton conducting materials, analysis of trends in the literature, and design of new molecular systems. In particular, we are working in an interdisciplinary team to integrate data science, experiments, and literature data into a new framework for the design of proton-conducting polymers. In addition to the primary research responsibilities described above, the successful applicant will be able to participate in other lab and CHEMS departmental activities including assisting with training of undergraduate and/or graduate students, report writing, and lab collaborations. This position is initially for one year, renewable annually based on performance and the availability of funding. The position includes salary and fringe benefits for 1 year.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field by the start of the position.
The ideal candidate will have a strong chemistry background and significant experience with the analysis and characterization of polymeric materials, especially polymer membranes.
Programming in Python and data science expertise is required.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with membranes and ion conduction is desired.
