Postdoctoral Associate (Pine)
This position is to perform research on the synthesis and self-assembly of colloidal particles for photonic crystals.  The Pine group recently developed a method to self-assemble colloidal diamond using tetrahedral clusters with DNA-coated patches [Nature 585, 524-529 (2020)].  In this position, a postdoctoral associate would develop new methods of synthesis and self-assembly that go beyond DNA-mediated interactions and use charge, depletion, and other interactions to self-assemble crystals with new symmetries principally for photonic applications.
