Oversees the operation and maintenance of a diverse range of state-of-the-art quantum/photonics and electronics packaging systems and processes, including 3D Photonic Wire Bonder, 3D laser printing, advanced flip-chip bonder, wafer bonder, wire bonder, dicing saw, cleaver, 2D material assembly, as well as pattern design software.
Leads integration/packaging process design and development for advanced quantum/photonics device assembly, user training, authoring SOPs and related documents, tool performance improvement, packaging process database establishing and maintenance, and user project assistance and troubleshooting.
Participates in user research projects to evaluate, design, expand, and maintain the equipment capability and process recipes. Engages with other staff on other nanofabrication process development and integration, such as lithography, Reactive Ion etching (RIE), film deposition, wet etching, and metrology.
Bring new fabrication and packaging technologies to CNS; interface with vendors and users to evaluate, acquire and commission state-of-the-art equipment to meet the current and future research needs.
As a member of Emergency Response Team (ERT), train users on best safety practices, and help to monitor laboratory safety compliance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and at least five years relevant of work experience; OR
A minimum of nine years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry or a related field with 3-5years experience is desirable.
Extensive experience with back-end and photolithography technology is required.
Cleanroom fabrication experience, especially in photolithography, etching, film deposition, and metrology, are highly desirable.
The candidate should be self-motivated with a strong desire to acquire on-the-job training, to succeed, and to develop intellectual, and practical professional skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well in teams environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, intermediate Excel skills.
Excellent communication skills in the English language, both written and oral.
Ability to perform highly complex experiments with high levels of reliability and accuracy within time constraints.
Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
