Description: Baylor University seeks candidates for the tenure-track position of Assistantor Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering starting in August 2024. The position is open to candidates in the area of Materials Science and Engineering where computational and experimental research thrust areas will be equally considered. The position supports the Signature Academic Initiative area of Materials Science in Baylor's Illuminate Strategic Plan. Candidates with a research and teaching focus that complement departmental strengths including but are not limited to: advanced and additive manufacturing, advanced structural metals, advanced polymer and ceramic composites, modeling and simulation of materials processing, bio and bio-inspired materials, meta-materials, metallurgy, and microstructure and nanostructure characterization are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include active research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, course curriculum development, and professional service.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will:
Hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related field.
Outstanding communication skills, a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated research achievements and publication record, and a commitment to professional activities.
Post-doctoral research experience and other related industrial experience will also be considered.
