Full-Time Verizon Regional Manager

Job Description

Purpose of Position:
Maximize the sales of all Corning Optical Communications products to Verizon as part of the Verizon team. Interface with key Verizon contacts in TX and the Verizon western region. Work closely with the Verizon Business Development Manager to align new products with strategic Verizon initiatives. Position to be based in the Dallas, TX region.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead point of contact for Verizon Sourcing, Logistics & Network Planning standards group
• Communicate updated product forecasts with PLM, Manufacturing, and Planers
• Responsible for consignment and direct distribution program
• Identify new opportunities to grow VZ and VzW business with direct distribution partners
• Drive new revenue streams with VZ in CA and TX and VzW data centers
• Develop plans to grow passive sales at Verizon Wireless MSCs and DCs
• Manage Contracts and PCNs
• Actively engage in RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs
• Conduct bi-weekly meetings with Planners and Distribution Direct Partners
• Run monthly meetings with VZ staff

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:
• Minimum five (5) years Telecom experience required
• Sales experience with a strategic account, preferred
• Past Experience, Knowledge and Relationships working with Verizon is preferred
• Territory covered to include Central/Western US
• Must be able to work effectively in an unstructured environment with minimum supervision from a home based office
• BA or BS from an accredited 4 year institution or equivalent
• MBA or equivalent degree is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills, habits and follow-up
• Strong oral and written presentation skills
• Strong knowledge of Commercial customers and practices
• Knowledge of Fiber-optic infrastructure products
• Special emphasis on SalesForce.Com and PowerPoint
