We are currently seeking a Furnace Operations Support Specialist to join our North America team.
This position will be a remotely located position.
This position is responsible for technically supporting and building capabilities of the regional glass manufacturing operations by providing expertise to OI North America glass plants and the Technical Training & Troubleshooting Group as well as improvement advice to plants for process, productivity and quality improvement. Primary area of technical support will be furnace operations. Position will also provide specifications and technical advice to the Administration Engineers to allow implementation of capital projects at minimum cost

SCOPE AND IMPACT:
The Furnace Operations Support Specialist (SME) is responsible for the implementation of significant improvements in manufacturing capabilities as well as significant improvements in performance across the region, while ensuring the standardization of best practice processes.
It will be important for the SMEs to maintain strong relationships globally. The Furnace Operations Support Specialist (SME) will work directly with Plant Managers, Production Manager, Finished Products Manager, Plant Engineers, Mold Design, Forming Engineering, Plant Quality Managers, Regional Quality, and GTOC across the region. The incumbent is required to influence rather than direct.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
This position reports to the Operational Capabilities Manager.
There are no direct reports to the Furnace Operations Support Specialist (SME) position.
This role will involve regular travel throughout the North America region (approximately 40 – 60%).
