The Owens-Illinois Auburn, NY facility is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Electronics Technician.
Follows all department and plant SOPs and policies.
Works from complex blue prints, wiring diagrams, shop hand books, layouts and other specifications (written or verbal) to determine materials and working procedures needed in the maintenance of plant machinery, equipment and structures.
Repair of electrical or electronic equipment and component parts.
Responsible for troubleshooting/maintaining/repairing complete systems including vision systems, servo controls, instrumentation and machine controls.
Responsible for all electronic apparatus, instruments, completed PID loop, Hot end IS machine controls, and all inspection equipment and their related systems.
Monitors inspection machine performance and makes adjustments where necessary.
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical principles, properties of various materials, principles of operation and application of equipment such as motors, switches, generators, conveyors, machinery, etc.
Responsible for all equipment containing micro-processor-based equipment and controls.
All other duties as assigned.
2 yr. degree in Electrical Technology, completion of NY State Certified Apprenticeship program, 3-5 years as a Maintenance/Electronic Technician or any combination of these.
Experience in 480v motors and controls
Experience with variable frequency drives
Experience with programmable logic controllers
Experience with servo controls and vision systems
PC literacy is required
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis
Must be able to work a 12 hr. shift, 4 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off schedule. Either Sun, Mon, Tues or Thurs, Fri, Sat. and every other Wed.
