Projects involved with:
Focus will be development of robust, cost effective first/next generation machine systems and product designs that provide significant competitive advantage to Corning’s businesses, and / or enable new products and product lines. The individual will be responsible to participate on cross-functional project teams, on early innovation stage projects, through concept generation / certification, technology development, detail design / build, and start-up in manufacturing.
Role within group:
Individual will be responsible for participating on cross-functional project teams, on early innovation stage projects, through concept generation / certification, technology development, detail design / build, and start-up in pilot or high volume manufacturing .
Estimate travel at 10% - 30% depending upon specific project assignment. Travel may be required during installation, debug, and start-up as well as for routine interaction with Customers and Suppliers.
Required Education: B.S. / M.S. / PhD in Technical Discipline
Required Years and Area of Experience:
Minimum 20 years in a technical field to include
o Process, Equipment or Product Development or Engineering
o Project or Engineering Management
o Project Level Supervisory Experience
o Technology or Product Transfer (preferred)
Technical expertise in the fields of semiconductor process and optical physics
The use to technical expertise to influence precision machine systems design and development
Technical Interface between Corning, and OEM automation suppliers to insures Corning success on New Business Development programs
