We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist - IT to join our Corporate Procurement team at our world headquarters in Perrysburg, Ohio.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Procurement Specialist - IT/Travel/Services will work with business stakeholders to build consensus and alignment for assigned sourcing projects, identify key stakeholders, collaborate and advise internal customers to enable sourcing assigned commodities at the best total cost while maximizing value for the organization.
Support and implement commodity strategies for assigned categories.
Analyze and coordinate efforts to develop and implement commodity initiatives / projects to drive savings.
Develop and execute RFx’s for new and existing products and/or services.
Negotiate vendor contracts, review vendor performance to assure contract adherence and drive continuous improvements.
SCOPE AND IMPACT:
Lead efforts to source cost effective solutions with suppliers to optimize total acquisition cost and ensure project timelines are met, leveraging O-I’s Strategic Sourcing Process.
Function as commodity expert focal point for assigned commodities, which includes IT and Travel, including serving as a responsive, effective commodity team member.
Provide prompt resolution of commodity issues raised.
Participate in identifying alternate suppliers for assigned projects when appropriate.
Manage supply base for assigned commodities.
Review contract issues identified by suppliers, understand the business impact and negotiate most favorable conditions for O-I.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
Five years proven procurement experience
Strong preference for IT Procurement experience
Strong negotiation skills with proven success in negotiating and drafting contract terms and conditions
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel (pivot tables), and Word
Working experience with SAP or other ERP systems
Lean Six Sigma capabilities preferred
Must be authorized to work in the country in which you are applying for a position. O-I will not fund or manage the process of obtaining any required work authorization.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to Procurement manager, and has no direct reports
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal travel is required
