The Research Engineer/Scientist is responsible for the development of new refractory products and provides technical support for the marketing and sale of all experimental products. The incumbent will interact with Sales/ Marketing and Customers to develop requirements for projects. The Research Engineer / Scientist need an education and experience that has recognized expertise in a particular field of technology, application and/or development. The major areas of business are related to Steel, Aluminum, Glass and Non – Ferrous Industries for high temperature process refractory materials.
There will be a need to manage multiple projects without requiring detailed direction or frequent input from a supervisor. The incumbent will conduct projects by planning and executing experiments in the lab, pilot plant or plant environments, including the analysis, conclusions, implementation/deployment plans, and the communication of data.
They will both lead and support projects, and be responsible for managing the completion of projects through others, that they may or may not supervise directly.
They will participate in preparing and delivering presentations to external customers and senior management.

Advanced degree preferred; or bachelor's degree in a scientific / Engineering discipline with significant, relevant lab experience. A background in Material Science or Refractories would be beneficial. Speaks, reads, writes and understands English.
Knowledge in OE/Lean methods preferred.
Ability to travel, by air or car, on domestic or International jobs, as required.
Ability to perform physical and chemical experiments and tests in a lab, pilot plant, or plant setting
Ability to operate a computer
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
Advanced degree preferred; or Bachelor's degree in a scientific/Engineering discipline with significant, relevant lab experience. Backgorund in Material Science or Refractories would be beneficial. Speaks, reads, writes and udnerstands English. Knowledge of OE/Lean methods preferred.
