The R&D Engineer will report to the R&D manager and be responsible mainly for new ceramic material and process development activities. McDanel is primarily a manufacturer of tubular ceramics and assemblies in oxide and non-oxide ceramics and uses extrusion, slip-casting and iso-static pressing as green-forming methods.
Job Requirements
This position is best suited to someone who:
Is educated to at least the Master’s Degree level in Ceramic Engineering, or Materials Science & Engineering.Has at least 5 years of experience in a ceramic R&D environment.
Is detail-oriented
Is computer literate and also possesses good analytical skills.
Is self-motivated but also a team-player.Is capable of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Is energetic and personable.
Other favorable attributes:
Proven mechanical aptitudeFamiliarity with an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment
Knowledge of statistical experimental methods
Familiarity with high-temperature furnaces
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident.
