Job Description

World Kitchen is a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of non-electric consumer housewares. Our well known brands include CorningWare®, Pyrex®, Corelle®, Revere Ware®, Ekco® Kitchenware, Baker’s Secret® and Chicago Cutlery®.

Position Summary: Manage all aspects of the Melting Department at Pressware. Lead actions to meet and exceed plant objectives for Safety, Cost Reduction, Product Quality and Manufacturing Efficiencies for Vitrelle/Corelle production.

Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities: Full accountability for Safety in the Department (including Batch, Mixing and Cave) (15%) Manage daily operations of all Melting related funtions. This includes raw materials receipt, mixing and chemistry operations, batch delivery, melting process operations, glass delivery, precious metals management, rebuild/repair preparation and glass quality parameters. (60%) Develop team: Includes and is not limited to training, coaching/mentoring, career path and succession planning and providing educational opportunities as methods of professional development. (10%) Manage hourly workforce and provide grievance resolution.(5%) Lead six sigma efforts and champion at least one cost savings initiative for the department (utilizing a formal methodology). (10%)

Job Requirements

Key Skills and Competencies Required: Experience in a glass-making role at the Department Head level is a plus. Minimally, section/line/technology leadership for a glass factory.

Education and Experience Required: BS Engineering (prefer Ceramic/Glass Engineering; Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the following competencies; Leadership, Glass Technology, Budgeting Capabilities; Project Scoping; and Procurement.
